About the Author
Rabinder Singh Bhamra was born in 1940 and raised in the city of Amritsar in Punjab, India into an industrial family. He grew up with an interest in the fine arts and finished his college education at Khalsa College, Amritsar with a Bachelor of the Arts. Later, the author did his Honors Degree in Mechanical Engineering from IIT in Bombay, where he worked for six years as a Production and Quality Manager before migrating to Long Island, New York. The author has been living in New York since 1972 with his wife, Balwinder Kaur of Chandigarh. He worked as a Principal Engineer and Quality Manager in microelectronics and electronic components manufacturing with General Instruments Corp. Presently, he is working with County of Nassau as a Project Manager. The author has been involved as a volunteer in the management of the Gurdwara Sikh Cultural Society since 1972 for 19 years until 1991, where he served as a General Secretary, Vice President and Trustee. He was one of the founding members of the Sikh Council of North America in 1978 and helped start the Sikh Day Parade on Baisakhi Day since 1988. He has also helped run the Sikh Studies Program at Columbia University for 10 years. As a community spokesperson, he presented the Sikh religion in interfaith meetings and conferences. He was working with JUS Punjabi T.V. till 2011, the first National Punjabi T.V. Channel in the USA, as a Talk Show Host and Senior Correspondent. He is deeply involved in the spread of Gurmat through writing, lectures, katha, kirtan and TV presentations. The author is also an Honorary Chaplain with the Department of Police, County of Nassau, New York.

A way to understand Spirituality and live simple and peaceful life...

OMG... One of the best book I have read so far. It explains in simple terms about the Sikh Religion. A religion of humanity. How to understand God, Live your simple life. How to love humanity. How to respect all the different faiths, I would highly recommend everyone to read this book if you want to understand what is spirituality is. God Bless Rabinder Singh Bhamra.

About the Author
JIM HARDY has developed a reputation for delivering clear, simple ways to understand this complex game. Mixed thoughts on the book. 1) the information in the book seems really spot-on. I am not aware of another golf instruction book that has this much detail. Probably the most informative of all of Jim Hardy's books, and all of them are quite good. 2) the images are very good overall, very informative, very helpful 3) the quality of the writing and editing of the text is rather poor overall. Several sentences, and there are lots of them, appear to have missing words and/or punctuation that makes them very difficult to understand. Given that this is an instructional/informational book, this last issue is a pretty disappointing.

Bottom line: buy the book, very good overall, but be prepared to edit the text to try to figure out what a number of key sentences mean.

The Definitive Resource on the Most Important Part of the Full Swing

The information in this landmark book on improving impact and shotmaking consistency is golden. It will help you determine which type of release is right for your swing and teach you exactly how to execute it. The book is a landmark because no one has previously done what Jim Hardy does here: identify and thoroughly explain the two fundamental ways of releasing a club to produce correct, repetitive impact. The photo illustrations are outstanding, as are the narrative explanations. Carefully chosen drills will aid you in making changes appropriate for your swing. This fine volume is testament to the fact that Jim Hardy is the perhaps the greatest scholar of the golf swing of all time.

Note on Kindle version (November 17, 2016): The Kindle version has been revised to a REFLOWABLE layout, which enables text resizing and text highlighting. The original format that readers complained about had a fixed format to reflect the exact style and feel of the physical book. I anticipate that readers accustomed to Kindle layouts that enable text resizing and highlighting will like the revised version.

Great Content - Kindle Version very poor

The content on RIT is just great. I've been a one-plane guy for 6 years and this is the first time it all came together. The wrist movement graphic was super, it cleared up the terminology of flexion/extension pronation and supination and the drills are right on target. The concept of the role of the right arm moving in a throwing motion while the left arm moved down linked the ideas of the rotary (merry-go-round) motion of the right arm to the vertical (Ferris-wheel) motion of the left arm. It was easy to hit shots that were difficult before.

In my view, this is the best Jim Hardy has done yet.

The downside is that the kindle product I bought was terrible - seems to have since been pulled from Amazon. Looks like it was scanned and not done very well. There is no real text - everything is done as a jpeg file so there is no search or changing font size. Good thing the content was so useful. Hope there will be an update on the kindle edition that works

Different version don't trust description!!

It was the SI version, when I called and asked if it was the same as the regular version they told me it was then when I received it the problems didn't match up and there are no solutions for it. It is not the same book as the hard copy even though that's what it's under. Do not order the paper back unless you are 100% sure that you're using the different version. Now I might be out 90 bucks and still have to buy the book for my class somewhere else.

Good Textbook

I bought this book about 4 months ago for my Statics class at university. The book is well organized and the concepts as well as the examples are easy to follow. I have found it to be a very good reference especially if one is learning some of the concepts mentioned in the book from scratch. There is a sufficient number of examples and problems for one to digest the material.

On the downside, the book does not have the feel of a general purpose reference book and should be regarded as a textbook that is to be followed in order to learn the material inside.

I gave it a three star rating because I was not completely satisfied with the information. I felt none of the directions of how to were complete. Very weak on how to make and set the triggers. Not knowing much on all of these traps, it was difficult for me to know how to set the triggers. The trigger is one of the most important part of the trap. If the trigger doesn't work right, then the trap is useless.

Some translations are off by a word or two but nothing to fret. I waited for some time to get this book for my library. I really enjoyed it and it was informative but educational in many details some have forgotten about this time of war. I recommend it !

About the Author
Katie Crouch was raised in Charleston, South Carolina. Though trained with her friends as a debutante, she never actually made it to the ball. She is the author of the bestselling books Girls in Trucks and Men and Dogs and has written for the San Francisco Chronicle, Glamour, the Guardian (London), and McSweeney's. She splits her time between San Francisco, California and Edisto Island, South Carolina. The Magnolia League was her young adult debut.

An ok second...

** Note ** This review will spoil the first book in this series.
At the end of The Magnolia League, Alex finds that her mother is trapped in the In Between and she's certain that her grandmother is evil so she makes a bargin with Sina to save her mother and destroy the league, declaring a White Glove War.

I was a bit disappointed with this story because, all the things that let me down me in the first book were magnified in this book. Thaddeus seems to care more about a girl he just met a few days ago, one who is mistreating the sister he claims to love. Alex is well, a bit of a brat. Then, the adults in this story all act like children. The only redeeming characters in this book are Hayes and Madison (even though Madison's relationship with Dex is a bit out of left field).

However, where the character lacked, the story somewhat made up for them. Alex is working with Sina to help free her mother, meanwhile a force known as the Gray Man is seeking to destroy Alex and anyone who gets in his way. The story wasn't as suspenseful as it should have been even with all these elements. It's written in two first person point of views and sometimes switches to third person - which can take a reader out of the flow of the story, making it seem scattered. However, like it's predecessor, The White Glove was a quick and easy read; one of those books you'd take on a road trip, or to the beach.

A magical, mysterious follow-up to the first book in the series

I was very glad to have The White Glove War right on hand as I finished its predecessor, The Magnolia League. I can't have imagined a better way to go into it, as all the details from the first book were still fresh in my mind. While I was initially worried that it would become a sophomore slump, I actually ended up liking it even more than The Magnolia League.

The setting, of course, was the main thing that drew me to this book - and I'm happy to say that we find out even more about it. There's more about where the Buzzards live, for instance, and more about the houses of Hayes and Alex, and even more about Savannah in general. Though the descriptions weren't necessarily completely vivid, I did think that I got a pretty good idea of what things looked like.

While magic was certainly a big part of the first book, it definitely came into its own in The White Glove War. There was seriously so much more going on with this hoodoo business, and I found everything utterly fascinating and never confusing. It's definitely interesting to ponder on what it means to have all this magic that can give you wealth, beauty, power, even love at your disposal. It was a treat to learn more about the magic, and to see how it could be both a helpful and a harmful tool in the lives of the Magnolias.

Speaking of the Magnolias, the relationships became even more intense in this one. There's definite tension between lots of different parties - Alex and her grandmother, Hayes and her grandmother and mother, Alex and Hayes, Alex's grandmother and Hayes' grandmother and the Magnolias and the Buzzards. All this tension certainly made for some explosive and emotional moments, and I felt like a gleeful (if slightly ashamed) observer as I watched things implode. It makes me glad to be able to report that, by the end of the book, things are sort of resolved to my liking - with a twist I was not expecting.

There's definitely a whole lot more happening in this book. Secrets are unraveled, relationships are viewed with a lens of honesty, dark magic is messed around with, the romance starts to become the real deal... It's a lot for one book to take on. The White Glove War, however, is successful in bringing it all together in a story that had my attention from page one up until the end.

I sincerely hope there's a third installment in this series, even if it is the final one. Though things definitely ended in a satisfying way, I can't shake the feeling that there is definitely more that could happen to all these characters I've grown fond of. The White Glove War brings even more of that Southern charm, with a twisty story, an exploration of the characters and their relationships and a whole lot of hoodoo magic.

In Savannah, the Magnolia League holds all the cards...or do they? Alex Lee learned something very disturbing at the end of the first book, "The Magnolia League", and she made a bargain with Sina (the hoodoo woman) she must keep or forfeit the one she loves most. In order to do this, she's become the consummate Magnolia; hanging off her grandmother's every word. Alex has had to grow fast in the world of the Magnolias and she has so many burdensome secrets to bear, not all of which are her own. In "The White Glove War", the perspective switches between Alex and Hayes, two of the next generation of Magnolias. There are also two chapters which neither of them narrate, but are narrated by two different beings which hold key pieces to the story. "The White Glove War" brings us into the deeper, darker mysteries of Hoodoo and shows why a little knowledge can be harmful. Can Alex and Hayes figure out what is going on between the Magnolia sisters before it's too late to save anyone?

I enjoyed "The White Glove War" very much as the reader was able to delve deeper into the rules and secrets which govern the Magnolia League. In-fighting, curses, darker uses of hoodoo magic and the spirit world all combine and crash together to create a haunting story. I liked the multiple voices in which the story was told and, for me, it flowed well. I feel the characters truly fit the location and their particular circumstances as Magnolias. I don't think you should expect women with old Southern roots and who dabbles in hoodoo for youth, money, and power to be sweet and innocent, so I think the characters are written just right for this book. "The White Glove War" really brings home the point about parents wanting better for their children, but the choices made are not always worth the cost. I'm excited to see what happens next for the Magnolias!

A great help to my studies

I have this book translated in the greek Language and is a Bible to learn more than a rehabilitation for Sports!!!

This book has helped me a lot with the rehabilitation aspect of Athletic Training, which is my major at school. Two of the grad assistance have it and loved it, so I decided to get the book! So far it has been the best move, I have learned new exercises to help with athlete's that I didn't know about prior to this book. The only downfall was I bought it used from someone whom claimed the book had "NO writing or Highlighting" inside and once I received the book it was filled with highlighting. If it doesn't bother you when other people have highlighted information that you might not want highlighted than go ahead and buy it used. If not than I really recommend buying it new, especially if you are in a physical therapy or sports medicine field.

The seller said the book was in good condition and when I recieved it that telling was far from true...The spine was loose and the cover was torn and terribly worn...Very dissapointing...
